The English Subbuteo Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Ben Staples and Rob McCormick as our new welfare officers. The two new appointments will help expand the senior officials within our association and assist with the welfare of both junior and senior players at ESA events.
Worcester River Plate Subbuteo Club had a magnificent turnout for their first tournament of season 9, with 14 players attending from Worcester, Bristol, Birmingham and Cardiff (we’ve gone international now!), the form book was thrown out of the window for what turned out to be a fantastic day of subbuteo action!

The ESA are pleased to announce that the National League will be held on 12th and 13th October 2013 at FUTSAL in Birmingham. The popular 2 day event provides participants with 11 games and is now regarded as the highlight of the ESA calendar.
The Barn Cup is the Lincoln Flickers annual open summer competition, held out the home of club member Peter Warner and his wife Shirley. It was first held in 2011 when it was known as The Shed Cup. However, we've grown since then!

Our next player interview is with Swiss Scouser Brian Butterworth. Brian who lives in Switzerland has been playing Subbuteo for more than 20 years and had a tough induction to the game when he joined the highly competitive Merseyside League. The league has featured many great players including Phil Redman, Brian Daley, Mark Lewis and Peter Liversedge.
Our second WASPA event took place in Thornaby on the 24th May 2013. The night was special for the club because we had a guest player from Lincoln Flickers, John Devaney, who came up for the nights play. John did well, only losing one game and that one only by the odd goal in three.

FISTF has announced that the Subbuteo World Cup will be held in Madrid on the 6th, 7th & 8th September 2013. The tournament was due to be held in Greece, but a decision was made by FISTF to change the location earlier this year. Spain will be fantastic hosts for the event, because they not only have financial support but are also the current Individual and World Team Champions.......
